Easy Korean Recipe

Korean preparations have two well-defined features, one is the spicy flavor and another is the hot flavor due to chilies. Commonly, many regions that you will come across highly spiced cooking all over the earth possess a few features similar to each other. These areas are often steamy and/or hot regions, geographically, or they used to be the part of a main spice route centuries ago. Korea is neither steamy nor warm, experiencing a relatively chilly environment overall. Nor it is ever been on a major spice route.

Korean preparations are renowned for using the premier amount of chilies across the globe. So lets talk about the source of hot and spicy Korean recipes. During 12th century, Chinese cooking was introduced to chilies by the Portuguese. Portugal natives are believed to be the provider of chilies into China from there these spicy seeds are handed over to Korean eating. There is also a belief that the chili was introduced by the Dutch to Korea much later, around the seventeenth century.

Even before the introduction of the chili, Korea was previously cooking dishes that was spicy. The spiciness of Korean recipes came from the usage of mustard plant and radishes in cooking, that , with the use of chilies, still exists.

Koch's is one of the most admired kinds of chilies being used in Korean recipes. This is a extended, finger-like chili, having a smooth skin that tapers at the end. It is known to be related to the kinds of chili eaten in western recipes namely Anaheim or New Mexico variety.

This chili is used to make a hot, red chili powder that is sold in three grades: coarse grade, flaked, and fine. Probably the most admired Korean preparations that make use of coarse chili is kimchi, it is well-liked fermented cabbage dish. The chili flakes are often included to make a nice garnish with tangy flavor. The fine grade is most often included to prepare a red peppery chili paste well-known as koch'ujang, which is used in practically every cooked Korean dish. However this chili paste can be without difficulty prepared at home but if you wish you can purchase from any of the Korean market. Besides the fine red spicy chili powder, the paste has barley malt powder, water, sweet rice flour, hot red chili powder, fermented soybean paste, soy sauce, and salt.

Apart from chili paste, noodles, rice together with tofu and vegetables are the additional main food items included in Korean dishes. Korean cuisine is a perfect assortment of sweet and sour, spicy, bitter and hot tastes. The reputation of Korean cuisine makes it the top cuisines of the world.

Great Indian Cuisines: The Wonderful Flavor Of Chicken Biriyani

Chicken Biryani Recipe

Biryani is a rice based food that carries meat or veggies as the core ingredient. Lots of herbs and spices go into making Biryani and the meat and veggies are encrusted and baked. Biryani in Persian pertains to cooking and roasting and the word Biryani comes from the same.

This special tasty recipe has its origins in Persia. The story goes that the nomads and the tribals carried lots of dried meat and rice with them while they traveled, and they layered the rice and the meat and added some dry herbs and nuts and let it seethe on a wood fire for for a while and then buried it in the sand for a few hours, after which the dish was considered ready. It was a pretty simple form of cooking Biryani those days, making use of nature and its resources.

Biryani has taken many different forms since then, and gone on to become a gourmet dish, that has been evolved and fine-tuned to such an extent, that now one comes across at least 50 varieties of Biryanis. I may be wrong there, as the number may be greater.

Biryani has meat and rice as its essential ingredients. The rest of the ingredients, differ depending on the variety and style of the Biryani being cooked.

There are many varieties of Biryani within India with each city having its own style, but perhaps Biryani from Hyderabad is the most famous of the lot. Believe it or not, a few of the biryani recipes are intensely protected by restaurants and families across generations. Biryani was infact introduced to India by the Mughals which was then improvised by the local Indians to suit their spice craving.

A good Biryani consists of nicely cooked meat and the right mix of spices and herbs, baked together with rice. The Rice and Meat is not combined while cooking. They're both cooked separately. The final phase of the cooking consists of layering the 2 alternatively and generally cooked either in an oven or on traditional wood fire, using low heat.
